Happy Valentines Day <3
This cover of the back-up vocals for M83’s Midnight City MIGHT be better than the original.

Looking for a DJ set dedicated face-melting remixes at Coachella? You’ve found them. LA Riots may be one of the only artists at Coachella where their remix work is far more recognizable than any of their original tracks. Actually, off the top of my head, I can’t name any of their singles.

But they are certainly a nice way to gently ease you into the electronic spirits — and by gently ease, I mean jolted so hard, you’ll get aural whiplash. Their style of electro may be slowly dying, but LA Riots keeps it going strong by doing what they know best: party hard with wobbly interpretations of the best electro house.

MIA and Santigold could technically be interchangeable; yet, there’s a huge difference between the two: pure energy. Santigold brings it — HARD.

While MIA has… well gone MIA in the past year or so, Santigold has continued to stay somewhat in the spotlight over the years. Always finding great ways to utilize electronic music, Santigold’s style is kept fresh. No cobwebs there! And with a new album coming up soon, there’s no reason to skip out on her performance at Coachella. Santigold’s “Go” featuring Karen O should be enough of a reason to check her out. That song continues to blow me away.

LTTP. I am definitely late to the party. Only discovering them about a year ago, Mazzy Star WAS an indie legend from the early 90s and so forth, until their inevitable break-up. Back together again in the late 90s and ever-so-quiet since, we unfortunately lost track of this gorgeous band.

Until now: Mazzy Star hopes to prove to the world that their enchanting dreamy tunes are still relevant now with their first 2012 appearance at Coachella. And what perfect timing too, as they prepare to release their newest album since 1996.
Beirut helping The National perform Fake Empire might be the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in today. And I just saw a turtle rescue another turtle off of its back.

Honestly, the band’s name along should guarantee a spot in your busy schedule at Coachella. Anything with jetpacks is awesome in my books.

No seriously, jetpacks are awesome. And so is this band. A little dark at times, but they have so much energy that packs a hard punch that will surely send your music senses off the charts. Now, if only they would fly around the stages of Coachella wearing fully-functional jetpacks…
